Years 1995-1997

These two years were dedicated to the consolidation in the Spanish Market of charter flights to tourist destinations such as Prague, Budapest, and Vienna. For Spanish tour operators and wholesalers it was the alternative solution to the monopoly in those countries of striking transportation companies such as C.S.A., MALEV and AUSTRIAN AIRLINES.

The first office opened in Prague.

G.S.A. activities for CROATIA AIRLINES started operating regular flights to Madrid

Year 1998

Year of the original commercialization consolidation system of different charter routes with different transport agencies such as:

• PRAGA. Travel Service / Aviaco
• ESTAMBUL Air Alfa
• BUDAPEST, OSLO, COPENHAGUE Aviaco
• ATENAS, DUBLIN, EDIMBURGO Aviaco

Year 1999

Flight operations to Egypt started that year with several transport companies in the country: MIDWEST AIRLINES and AMC AVIATION operated the whole year (as if these were regular lines). On the other hand, IBERIA’s absorption of AVIACO barred the possibility of using this route for regular flights to different European points, which started to be operated by AIR EUROPA and SPANAIR.

Year 2000

Offices are opened in Budapest and Cairo.

Traffic offices open at the airports of Madrid and Barcelona, with their own vehicles on ramp and SITA.

Flight commercialization begins to Toronto with ROYAL CANADA AIRLINES.

Year 2001

A crisis in tourism that struck the sector very strongly because of the events of September 11 was noticed. Additionally, the bankruptcy of two clients with usually strong production also weighed heavily on production and profitability, although neither of these two circumstances was a risk for any consolidated company in the sector.

Year 2002

The crisis arising from September 11th, 2001, still influenced a lot the movement of charter flights which, in some traditional routes of the sector (for example, to Palma de Mallorca), have been reduced by 20%. On the other hand, floods in several Mid- Europe countries caused a massive flight cancellation from mid August. Prague and Budapest have been star destinations since the establishment of INTER-FLIGHTS.

In spite of all these circumstances, the business volume slightly exceeded the one of the previous year, thanks to the strength of Egypt’s destination and a heavy inrush in the handling supervision segment of Russian air companies at Spanish airports.

Year 2003

In spite of the Iraqi war, which severely damaged tourism at the beginning of this year, economic figures of the business were a record (29,5 million EUR), with same number of employees at the headquarters and an increase of staff at the airports of Madrid and Barcelona.

Year 2004

During that year, the office moved to a new one with room for more people and equipment for the next expected increase in the business volume.

Charters to Egypt of air companies such as SPANAIR and LTE shall begin.

Handling operation of passengers at the airport of Madrid-Barajas begins.

Year 2005

Flights to Prague with C.S.A. were consolidated, and there was a record production to MALEV.

The attack in July in Sharm el Sheikh very negatively affected the trips to Egypt, with a heavy decrease with respect to the previous year, but was partially compensated for by a serious inrush of the FLIGHTS TO JORDAN.

In Madrid begins to develop several handling activities for GRUPO LAN and GRUPO ALITALIA.

The first contract with GIRJET is signed to supervise the handling in Madrid.

In Barcelona, the supervision of the daily flight of GLOBESPAN begins.

Year 2006

Incorporation of new vehicles to the fleet based in Barajas, and the operation of surface and ground-earth transmitters at Barajas, as well as El Prat.

This year, the Joint Commercial Operation with GIRJET, for the commercialization of most flights began, and activities of handling supervision in Madrid, as well as at all airports carrying out different flight series.

Year 2007

Relation with GIRJET strengthened at commercial as well as at operational level.

Routes to Jordan and Turkey consolidated.

Assistance and handling activities for the Spanish company TOPFLY and for the Italian company WINDJET were carried out, as well as for the Turkish companies ATLASJET and PEGASUS, and the Ukrainian company LVIV AIRLINES.

It has also been the year when the routes to West Africa started and a new sales office opened at the center of El Prat de Llobregat.
